Institut Digitalisierung und Informatik
Klimawandel, Nachhaltigkeit, die digitale Transformation der Wirtschaft und der Gesellschaft – diese Themenfelder gehören zu den größten Herausforderungen unserer Zeit. Das Institut Digitalisierung und Informatik hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, gestützt auf die Forschungsschwerpunkte „Digital Transformation and Organisational Development“ und „Software Engineering für intelligente Systeme“ neue Lösungsansätze für eben diese Themen zu finden und zu erforschen.
Zum Einsatz kommen dabei State-of-the-Art Technologien und Werkzeuge wie Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), Big Data Analytics & mehr. Agiles arbeiten und Innovationsmethoden wie Design Thinking und Lean Prototyping fördern die Innovationsfähigkeit im Institut.
Lösung von realen Problemen
Die Forschung orientiert sich an den Anforderungen von Wirtschaft und Industrie, wo gut funktionierende Software- und Anwendungslösungen die Grundlage für eine bessere Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Hochleistungsbetriebe bilden. Die Forschungspartnerinnen und -partner sind Unternehmen, der öffentliche Sektor sowie andere Forschungs- und Bildungsorganisationen.
Ziel der Forschung ist es, neue innovative Lösungen, Werkzeuge und Vorgehensweisen zu entwickeln, die das Geschäftsumfeld durch nachhaltige Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien verbessern und konkrete Beispiele und Referenzen für Unternehmen, Partnerorganisationen und den öffentlichen Sektor liefern.

Forschungsprojekte mit nationalen und internationalen Partnerinnen und Partnern aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft tragen diese Mission hinaus in die Praxis. Und natürlich wird dies auch den Studierenden in den Studiengängen Informatics und Digital Business Innovation and Transformation vorgelebt und vermittelt.
" In einer zunehmend komplexer werdenden Software-Landschaft sind neue Ansätze gefragt, um Systemvariabilität beherrschbar zu gestalten und das Potenzial der Verbesserungen durch Data Analytics voll auszuschöpfen. Eine Kernaufgabe unseres Instituts besteht darin, durch eigene Forschung sowie im Verbund mit Projektpartnerinnen und -partnern Verfahren zu entwickeln, die eine nachhaltige, zukunftsfähige Digitalisierungsoffensive ermöglichen. Im Moment beschäftigen wir uns mit Künstlicher Intelligenz, mit intelligenten und wissensbasierten (dezentralen) Softwaresystemen sowie mit Software-Engineering und Innovations- und Transformationsmanagement.
