Responsibility, knowledge, future.
We see putting knowledge into practice as a creative process, which we implement in partnership with our professional community of academics, administrative staff and students. We embrace our responsibility to provide the best possible education while instilling important values for the future of our society.
Pioneering, international outlook, respectful.
As a growing organisation, we attract employees from far and wide and are fully committed to supporting your professional and personal development. Highly ranked in terms of both teaching and research, we offer an international working environment in the heart of the Wachau Valley UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Region. The IMC Krems community comprises our academics and other university staff, as well as our students, alumni, and academic and industry partners all over the world.
Our goal is to give our students access to the kind of expertise and research – always with a real-world focus – they need to get a head start as they embark on their careers. As part of this process, we take on the role of mentors and visionaries who foster new and creative ideas as we work to shape the future together.
We welcome collaboration between lots of different personality types. Both as part of our international teaching and research operations as well as our training and development activities, we are always working to ensure that our entire community is prepared for the challenges of the future. The active dialogue within a vibrant community in Austria and around the world inspires us to provide them with innovative services.
Our interactions with each other are characterised by a high degree of flexibility and mutual respect. Our relaxed, friendly campus culture is based on respect for the expertise and potential of the people who study and work at the university. Excellent support, open communication on an equal footing and short decision-making paths foster team spirit, a collegial approach and a passion for our work.
Trailblazing research methods
To ensure that we are always in a position to make fresh breakthroughs together that lead to groundbreaking findings, we have to make sure that our research methods are in line with the national and international state-of-the-art at all times. This is why we work with the most advanced technologies as part of an innovative, agile and young corporate culture. At IMC Krems you have ample room to shape the way things are done as well as the opportunity to bring in your own innovative ideas.
Comprehensive range of training and development courses
Your personal and professional development is important to us. Which is why we offer a comprehensive in-house and external staff training programme, and support you with attractive courses designed to promote your professional and personal development.
At IMC Krems we believe that standing still is going backwards, which is why we are constantly investing in the latest technology and maintaining a strong focus on digitalisation measures. This can be seen both in the modern equipment in our offices as well as teaching methods such as virtual classes, online exams and consultation sessions, as well as working from home arrangements.
We love to celebrate – from the milestones we reach together and joint successes, to the times that someone on our team achieves something truly exceptional. We motivate and inspire each other. IMC Krems is not just where we work – it’s a place where new friendships are made.
Flexible working models
We offer our employees a high degree of flexibility when it comes to striking the kind of work-life balance that’s best for them. Through a range of models including flexitime arrangements, working from home and various sabbatical options, we promote a culture that is shaped by trust and actively encourages employees to take individual responsibility and adopt an independent mindset.
We can adapt to individuals’ specific family circumstances, providing the necessary support wherever possible. For us, maintaining a healthy work-life balance is close to our heart – whether it’s a question of your responsibilities as a parent, guardian or carer, you will find that our door is always open. And we have hochschuleundfamilie certification to prove it!
Your health is very important to us, which is why we launched the Element Health initiative, a programme designed to help you stay fit and well, while also supporting your mental health. Occupational health care services round out the picture.
Welcome to the team! Our comprehensive onboarding scheme including buddy programme will help you to settle into your new job. Buddies make sure that new colleagues quickly feel part of the team and are able to do their jobs effectively.
Working from home
We provide a range of measures designed to help our employees organise their working hours in a way that suits them best. Working from home is an ideal way for our people to strike a healthy work-life balance. At the same time, as a sustainable higher education institution we play a role in safeguarding the environment.
The state-of-the-art technology at all IMC locations helps to create a working environment that promotes innovation – and all offices and seminar rooms at IMC Krems are barrier-free. Employees who choose to travel to work by car can leave their vehicle in one of our covered parking facilities, with spaces available at a heavily discounted rate.
Paris, Saigon or Helsinki? Members of the IMC Team not only benefit from working in an international environment in the middle of Krems; they also have the opportunity to find out more about other partner institutions in all participating Erasmus+ programme and partner countries as part of our teacher/staff mobility scheme.
Perks and goodies
Members of the IMC team can look forward to a wide range of perks and goodies, including: free fruit, mineral water, tea and coffee at all IMC locations; additional days off such as 24 and 31 December and Good Friday; birthday gifts and Christmas presents; jubilee payments; a special IMC portal full of discounts, special concessions, and much more besides.
Gender and diversity
Diversity: a key resource
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 1). As a university, we want to take advantage of the opportunities that diversity presents and are therefore committed to responsible and respectful treatment of a range of different values.
Our diversity management systems help us to identify differences and similarities between our stakeholders and critically reflect on our procedures. In this way, we can ensure equal access to resources such as education and employment for all.
Another important aspect: we are a female- and family-friendly organisation – with respect to both our staff and students. Thanks to our numerous initiatives, we are one of the companies in Austria that have been particularly successful in promoting women within the company: This is also confirmed by the equalitA seal of excellence.
In order to send a clear signal in relation to diversity, the university signed the Diversity Charter in 2013 – a voluntary pledge to respect and value all members of society
