Studying abroad in the EU

Erasmus+

The ERASMUS+ programme is the EU’s official student mobility programme, based on the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027 (ECHE) adopted by the participating institutions.

IMC Krems is a ERASMUS+ partner, enabling our students to access the world of opportunities that this European network opens up.

On the basis of bilateral agreements, the partner universities ‘swap’ students while guaranteeing that no tuition fees need be paid at the respective guest university.

In fact: you can apply for a Erasmus+ grant to help finance your time abroad.

Courses completed abroad are accredited using the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

Studying abroad worldwide

Student exchange with non-EU partner universities is also done on the basis of bilateral agreements. It works along the same lines: our students don’t pay any additional tuition fees to our partner universities.

The growing number of incoming students from our partner universities provides our students with first-hand insights and also adds to the undeniable international flair of our university.

Dual degrees

Some of our degree programmes hold a close cooperation with some selected partner universities – that allows you to obtain a so-called “dual degree” during your studies!

A dual degree programme offers the opportunity to obtain two independent degrees for completing two different curricula. The dual degree agreement between the partner universities specifies the arrangements for accrediting equivalent courses for what are otherwise independent degree programmes. The collaboration makes it possible to study simultaneously for two degrees and complete them in less time than it would take to do each programme separately. Each university is responsible for awarding its own degree.

Accreditation after your exchange semester: completed semesters abroad are accredited as a normal semester on the basis of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Our team will be happy to explain the details to you.
