Katarína’s tip for future students: Enjoy your studies to the fullest and take the opportunity to network, critically discuss with like-minded people and make lasting friendships!

I work in the "beating heart" of Raiffeisenbank International. I started working for RBI's Market Risk Management (MRM) as a student, where I was responsible for the quality and delivery of the data into the internal risk model.

After finishing the master degree in International Business and Economic Diplomacy, I started a new position as an IT Business Analyst for MRM. Today, I get to work with masterminds on the development of the internal risk model, playing an important role as a central node in transition of requirements between IT and business.

Combination of knowledge and skills

The decision to study at IMC Krems was quite easy after I graduated there with a bachelor degree in Tourism and Leisure Management. I enrolled for the pilot year of the International Business and Economic Diplomacy programme under the guidance of one of my favourite professors of all time - Alina Schoenberg.

I was more than sure that I would receive a great education in the form of a combination of knowledge and skills. Although not all sections were easy, I wouldn't have it any other way! The course content exceeded my expectations. From economics to finance to advanced business analysis, a wide range of subjects helped me succeed in my profession.

Future colleagues

I really liked the fact that the programme was very practical and we could try everything out right away in class. The professors are passionate about their field, very committed and their lectures had a personal touch. You were never just a number, but a future colleague. We always learned a lot from each other.

Studying in Costa Rica

My degree programme was taught almost entirely online due to the COVID 19 pandemic and I could study from anywhere - so my best friend and I moved to Costa Rica. The time difference was a problem, but I still managed to graduate with honours.

Take the chance!

My tip to future students: Enjoy it! The master programme may be the last time you meet so many experts from different industries. So enjoy it to the fullest and take the opportunity to consult with them, network, critically discuss with like-minded people and make lasting friendships. The degree is demanding, but you'll look back fondly!

I would definitely recommend International Business and Economic Diplomacy to anyone who wants to develop their skills in business or politics in a very practical way. But also to anyone who is not sure yet, because this degree can show you a great direction. Dream big!
