Martin Waiguny re-elected Chair of IMC Krems Academic Board

The Academic Board of IMC Krems has re-elected Prof. Martin Waiguny as Chair for a further four years. Prof. Manfred Pferzinger will remain as Deputy Chair.

Prof. Martin Waiguny has been re-elected as Chair of the Academic Board at IMC Krems.

“I’m very much looking forward to continuing our highly productive cooperation with Martin Waiguny and Manfred Pferzinger following their re-election to the Academic Board. The close coordination and exchange of ideas with the Managing Team will remain vital for the ongoing success of the university,” commented IMC Krems CEO, Ulrike Prommer.

Persuasion expert

Martin Waiguny has been chair of the Academic Board at IMC Krems since 1 January 2019, and also serves on the board and committees of the Austrian Association of Universities of Applied Sciences. His primary research focus is consumer behaviour, with an emphasis on persuasion. His work is closely linked with research into communications and new media and technologies. 
Prof. Waiguny comes from the province of Carinthia in Austria, where he studied Applied business administration at the University of Klagenfurt. In the course of his degree he gained expertise in a wide range of disciplines, specialising in marketing, controlling and non-profit health management. 
He subsequently spent seven years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Klagenfurt, before becoming a senior lecturer at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, where he taught Advertising and conducted research. He has also been a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois, as well as a guest lecturer at San Diego State University and ICD business school in Paris. 

The IMC Krems Academic Board

Rules of procedure govern the responsibilities, periods of office, rules of proxy and election procedures of the Academic Board, in accordance with the Fachhochschul-Studiengesetz (Universities of Applied Sciences Studies Act). The Academic Board is responsible for managing the university’s academic affairs. It is currently made up of the Chair and Vice Chair as well as selected degree programme directors, representatives of the teaching and research staff, and students.
