200 videos with internship experiences

The annual internal IMC Experience Fair where bachelor degree students of the Department of Business report on their experiences from their internship could not take place on site at IMC Campus Krems this year due to the current COVID-19 situation. But a good alternative was quickly found.

New video material: information about 200 internship providers

In more than 200 short video clips, students from the bachelor degree programmes Betriebswirtschaft für das Gesundheitswesen, Export-oriented Management, Tourism and Leisure Management and Unternehmensführung reported on their experiences and impressions and provided personal tips. Thus, these videos represent a great added value for all those students who still have the internship ahead of them.

Internship as a fixed part of the curriculum

The bachelor degree programmes in the field of business at IMC Krems have one thing in common: they are adapted to the needs of the economy and have a strong practical focus. Students gain initial work experience during their studies through their compulsory internship in the fourth or fifth semester. During the internship search, the Career Services team provides students with advice and support. The team maintains contact with numerous renowned companies that are looking for interns in Austria, Germany and many other countries. This makes the search for a suitable internship much easier.

Development of professional skills

"Through the internship at Deloitte Austria in the auditing department, I gained great and valuable insights into the companies I was allowed to audit, I was able to consolidate my basic knowledge of accounting and read up on some of the areas in more detail", reports Andreas Hubmaier, student from our Unternehmensführung programme.

His tip to all those students interested in an internship at Deloitte: "I would recommend going to the job interview very confidently, but also authentically. In advance, you should revise a few basic accounting principles, as it is customary to be asked questions about them".

Experiencing event management hands-on

Tatjana Redl, student of Tourism and Leisure Management, completed her internship at the Robinson Club Cala Serena in Mallorca. In her dynamic, creative and entertainingly edited video, she shows insights into her internship activities in the area of meetings, events and seminars.

She was not only involved in the planning process of the various events, but also actively contributed to the events and entertainment offers. "What was special for me was working with the other employees, who became my second family during this time due to our close collaboration," the tourism student remembers.

Opportunities for personal development

Hannes Pachler is studying Unternehmensführung and completed his internship at Backbone Photo, a start-up in Switzerland.

"My area of responsibility was business development. Here I was responsible for the Austrian market, my task was to find new customers," Pachler reports and adds "I benefited above all from the soft skills. Through the internship you learn to be more open, to overcome the problem of talking to strangers, and you learn how to present and sell yourself.”
