In profile: Christian Maurer
Prof. Maurer has been teaching and conducting research at IMC Krems since 2005, and has been in charge of the Tourism and Leisure Management and Marketing and Sales master programmes since 2014. Most of his lecturing is on e-tourism and digital marketing courses. He is has written or contributed to numerous academic publications and books, and is a sought-after speaker at international conferences and co-founder of the International Student Conference in Tourism Research (ISCONTOUR), which has taken place annually since 2013.
Christian Maurer is an active member of the International Federation for IT in Travel and Tourism (IFITT) and a fellow of the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE). From 2000 to 2004 he worked for the Austrian National Tourist Office in Vienna, where he was responsible for the development and operation of its internet portal.
