As a university, we are called upon to make our contribution to social responsibility even in these difficult times and to reduce both mobility and personal contacts as far as possible. This is the only way to ensure that the COVID-19 measures take effect and that the number of infections decreases.
This is why we have decided to set our internal IMC Barometer to RED (research remains ORANGE) and consequently to implement further measures. All new measures will take effect from Tuesday, 17 November 2020.
All courses now in online mode
We are not closing - we are simply switching to an amplified online mode. The entire IMC team is working in the background to ensure that our students are not put at a disadvantage with regard to the completion of their studies due to the current situation. Of course, we can still be reached as usual by e-mail or telephone for questions and concerns.
At this point, we would like to make a personal request to our students and the IMC team: Please help us overcome this difficult situation, and please also strictly adhere to the applicable measures and recommendations in your private environment and limit your social contacts as much as possible. And the most important thing: Stay healthy.
Current measures: an overview
Courses
Wherever possible, the courses will be converted to online mode until the end of the semester. This will result in further changes to your timetable. Please check it regularly.
Practical exercises & laboratories
The new measures will also affect the practical sessions: all presence classes on campus will be suspended until 8 December 2020 and practical and laboratory exercises will be postponed to a later date.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will reschedule the courses as soon as possible. We would like to assure all affected students that we will continue our efforts to avoid major delays in their studies. Of course, we will keep you up to date.
Forschung
The IMC barometer in the research area will remain ORANGE, laboratory research (in wing G and in the research institute TFZ) will continue to be possible in shift operation, subject to strict hygiene regulations.
Office activities and evaluations as well as analyses are carried out from home.
IMC team & infrastructure
Where possible, the IMC team will work from home until 8 December 2020. Excluded from this arrangement are laboratory research as well as stand-by and maintenance services.
The buildings IMC Piaristengasse, IMC Gozzoburg, Campus West and Wing G1 are currently closed.
Additional information
We hope that these measures will help to reduce the number of infections in Austria. We are very much looking forward to welcoming all students, lecturers and the entire IMC team back to IMC FH Krems in person soon.
