Joy at Marshall Plan Scholarships

Four students from the Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and the Applied Chemistry degree programmes can look forward to a Marshall Plan scholarship. During the ceremony "Celebrating 75 Years of the Marshall Plan", they received their scholarship certificates in the presence of the US Ambassador to Austria Victoria R. Kennedy and the President of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Wolfgang Petritsch.

Sabina Tepus and Emmely Patrasso from the Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology programme and Emil Steinwendtner and Hanna Humpel from Applied Chemistry will start their research stays in August. They will visit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, the Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and the Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
The scholarship holders of the last two years, whose certificate presentation had been cancelled, were also invited to the event. Barbara Entler, Uwe Rinner and Max Schachner congratulated everyone on their success.

About the Marshall Plan Scholarship Programme

The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation annually awards scholarships to Austrian students for research stays in the USA and also promotes collaboration between the two countries. The scholarships are intended for students who have made outstanding academic achievements in the field of science.
