Creative IT solutions for society and business

Women and engineering

Many companies and institutions are now upgrading in this respect and need capable experts now and in the future. The current situation increases the demand for specialists in the field of digitalisation, automation and artificial intelligence.

Sophie Geiger am IMC Campus Krems

Sophie Geiger is convinced: As a computer scientist, you have to find creative solutions, it is not enough to know programming languages.

One person who will be trained to become a capable expert with skills such as creativity, analytical thinking, entrepreneurial ability and above all digital skills is the young Lower Austrian Sophie Geiger. She studies Informatics at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.

Digital know-how is in greater demand than ever

Sophie Geiger is 21 years old and comes from Tulln. Before she came to IMC Krems, she graduated from the commercial academy and decided to take an orientation year. She enjoys her informatics studies very much. She particularly appreciates the fact that she can often decide for herself what she wants to concentrate on - be it web technologies or programming.

"What I particularly like about my degree course is that most of the time we are free to choose what our projects look like. So, we can be creative and create project ideas or ways to solve tasks as we like. This also leads to more motivation in the theoretical subjects of the course".

Her motto: Leave a trail

"Do not follow where the road may lead. Instead, go where there is no path and leave your own trail."
