This English-language bachelor programme is aimed at students who are looking to pursue a career in the international wine industry, including:

  • Working in a winery e.g. in marketing and sales or customer service (B2B, B2C)
  • Wine trade – particularly in specialised wine shops/fine wines
  • Wine, spirits, sparkling wine import and/or export
  • Wine tourism (e.g. incoming or outgoing wine tourism agencies, wine route management and marketing)

  • Working as a sommelier, wine consultant or tasting room manager

Moreover you can start your career as a brand ambassador for international wine, sparkling wine or Spirit brands or in the online wine trade, in food and fine wine publishing (magazines, books and guides), in upstream industries, e.g. technical winery equipment, packaging, closures or bottle companies, in Downstream industries, e.g. culinary and wine marketing agencies, label manufacturers or event and fair Management agencies.

Above all your job opportunities involve working for international NGOs such as the OIV (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin in Paris) or, for example, the GWC network, regional or national wine marketing boards such as the ÖWM, DWI, Swiss Wine, CIVC or the BIVB. You could also become a trainer or teacher in wine education (sommelier schools, hotel and restaurant training schools) or an entrepreneur and open a wine bar, restaurant, wine shop, online retailer or a wine delivery company.
