Practice-oriented education

The IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems offers degree programmes geared to the professional world.

The University’s courses combine academic theory and practical experience, and incorporate important inputs from business and industry. And since many instructors are business professionals, they can help students acquire up-to-date, professionally-oriented, real-world knowledge and skills. Commissioned studies are another integral part of our degree programmes – they allow students to regularly collaborate with companies, non-profit organisations and the public sector.

Compulsory internships, projects and partnerships with industry and business help our students to gain valuable personal experience and to make contact with potential employers while still at university, adding a proactive dimension to their career development.

Internships are mandatory in our full-time bachelor’s degree programmes. They must be completed abroad in the English-speaking degree programmes, although students of other programmes can choose between national or international internships.

In the full-time master’s degree programmes, many of our students spend their Applied Research and Training Semester (ARTS) abroad as well.

Part-time students benefit from the strong practical focus of their course contents and from the block weeks. During the national or international block weeks, students visit businesses, attend lectures by leading experts, and participate in special field trips on degree programme-related topics.
