Living in Krems

Centre of learning with a long tradition

Krems enjoys a well-earned reputation as the centre of education in Lower Austria. During the academic year, life in the town is shaped by its 13,000 university students. 2,500 students from them are now studying at the IMC Krems. Krems’ inimitable flair and its extensive range of cultural and leisure activities make this a highly enjoyable home away from home for students.

Festival town

As a festival town, Krems hosts a wide selection of cultural events, with its various musical and theatre performances drawing thousands of visitors every year. A rich, contemporary artistic and cultural scene has flourished here in Krems, centred on the Kulturmeile where the Caricature and Literature Museum is located. This is also home to Kunsthalle Krems – currently Austria’s largest art gallery– which shows widely acclaimed exhibitions of 19th and 20th century art.

Fitness and wellbeing

In an environment where the focus is on outstanding performance, fitness and wellbeing are popular additions to everyday student life. Go for a jog, jump on your mountain bike, strap on your inline skates, or simply kick back and relax in the lush hillside vineyards surrounding Krems. Krems – Study. Experience .
