Real life project "Reidlhütte New"

IMC Krems: Tourism Master students successfully completed their first real life project at the IMC Krems.

On January 18th, 2012, the final concept „Reidlhütte New“ was presented in St. Poelten/Lower Austria at the Ecoplus Wirtschaftszentrum.

Dr. Christian Steckenbauer, IMC Krems lecturer and Mag. Markus Redl, Managing Director of Niederösterreichische Bergbahnen

The aim of the project “Reidlhütte New” was on one side, creating a concept for a new and attractive skiing hut for tourists in Annaberg and on the other side, giving the region an impulse for further revitalization. The project was conducted in close cooperation with the New Design University St. Pölten and started with a Kick-Off Meeting on the 6th of October, where the project owner Niederösterreichische Bergbahnen – Beteiligungsgesellschaft m.b.H. informed the students about the current situation of the Reidlhütte.

After nearly four months of hard and creative work the results and suggestions were presented to Mag. Markus Redl, Managing Director of Niederösterreichische Bergbahnen – Beteiligungsgesellschaft m.b.H. and to Dipl. Ing. Johannes Pesendorfer, MBA, the responsible architect of the new hut. A very successful presentation was given by the students of the IMC Krems and the New Design University leaving the professors and the project owners very impressed by the outcomes of the project.

A small discussion took place and further steps concerning the construction of the "Reidlhütte New" were presented by Mr. Redl. As recognition for their contribution to the project, the students and professors were invited for a skiing trip to Annaberg in February.
