IMC Krems will be hosting its Business Week events series for the first time from 20-24 March 2017. The university’s Department of Business has organised 10 events, which are linked by the theme of business and behaviour, and give students, alumni, university staff, lecturers, researchers and members of the public an opportunity to gain new insights, network and take part in discussions.

Numerous representatives of business and politics will be in attendance at the official opening, which will take place in the main hall of Wing G1 at Campus Krems at 6pm on Monday 20 March 2017. This is followed by the Krems Business Talks event, titled “Digital transformation – opportunities in an age of upheaval”. Over the following four days, participants at the daytime and evening events will be able to broaden their knowledge, get to know the university and make valuable contacts.

Networking opportunities

At Business Week, IMC Krems students and other participants will have the chance to meet and talk to top international speakers, lecturers from universities abroad, CEOs, HR managers and decision makers. At the Career Links recruitment fair they can secure a job or internship place, as well as gain international perspectives on hot topics such as digitalisation, leadership and CSR.

“This is the first time that we’ve packed such a broad range of events into a single week. Some of the highlights on the programme include the new Business Symposium, the WeinKulTour Symposium, the Krems Business Talks, the IMC Management Dialogue and the IMC Krems Sustainability Day,” said IMC Krems CEO Ulrike Prommer.

Career Links recruitment fair

The combination of academic and business-related expertise at IMC Krems opens up excellent domestic and international career opportunities for graduates. Internships are an integral part of all of the degree programmes. The IMC Career Center is responsible for maintaining close relations with partners in business and industry. At IMC Krems’ Career Links 2017 recruitment fair taking place during Business Week, students and graduates will again have the chance to meet potential employers and find a suitable internship place or a job.

New: WeinKulTour Symposium

The first ever WeinKulTour Symposium will take place under the banner “Wine.Cuisine.Tourism” during business week. The event is centred on the connections between and significance of wine in the Wachau and Kremstal valleys, culture and cuisine in the Danube region of Austria, and tourism.

 A day dedicated to sustainability

The second IMC Krems Sustainability Day, which focuses on sustainable business practices, takes place on 24 March 2017 and brings Business Week to a close. Innovative business people from a range of sectors and experts on the topic of climate and climate research will present their projects to small groups of participants, talking about their experiences and successes as well as the challenges they face in their fields.

US students participating in Business Week

The Department of Business at IMC Krems is currently cooperating with Saybrook University in California. As part of this collaboration, teaching staff and students from the university will be visiting Krems and participating in a specially designed Business Week programme.
