General admission requirements for University of Applied Sciences Bachelor degree programmes

To qualify for admission to a University of Applied Sciences Bachelor programme, you must have an Austrian school-leaving certificate or an equivalent qualification. 

Applications with foreign secondary school leaving certificates will be verified individually for equivalence with the Austrian general university entrance qualification by the academic board after we have received the complete application. Supplementary examinations may have to be completed in order to achieve the necessary requirements to study at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.

Applicants for degree programmes being lectured in German, who are not native speakers of German have to provide a proof of German language proficiency at the time of application by means of Level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). E.g. TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache)

Further information

For male applicants holding Austrian citizenship it is strongly recommended that they have completed their compulsory military or alternative service, or received a dispensation.

General admission requirements for University of Applied Sciences Master degree programmes

To qualify for a University of Applied Sciences Master programme, you must have completed a Bachelor degree in a related subject or hold an equivalent degree from a recognised Austrian or foreign Institution of Higher Education.

Recognised higher education institutes offer Bachelor degree programmes lasting a minimum of six semesters and require general university entrance qualification.

If you have completed a two-year undergraduate training programme at a post-secondary education institution such as an academy, you need to do the following to qualify for admission to a University of Applied Sciences Master degree programme:

  • Graduates of two-year post-secondary training programmes must satisfy the six-semester minimum degree programme requirement. In order to achieve equivalence of qualifications, applicants must provide academic records for additional courses lasting at least two semesters in a related subject at a recognised post-secondary educational institution.

In such cases, the degree programme director and the academic board will assess the level of individual applicants’ qualifications in an examination.
