Integrating topics for the future into curriculums and curriculum development

So far, a dedicated degree programme entitled Environmental and Sustainability Management has been introduced, and the topic of sustainability has been integrated into all Department of Business degree programmes accredited or revised in the past five years. Integration of environmental and sustainability-related aspects into the majority of IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems courses is now under way, as is preparation of an action plan for additional expansion and deepening of sustainable considerations within the company, as well as a range of dedicated courses.

Integrating sustainability into the Management master degree programme

This programme is aimed at prospective students who plan to assume managerial responsibilities at a company or other organisation in the course of their career. It provides the skills required to take on company-wide management functions, as well as managerial responsibilities in either human resource management or controlling, depending on the student’s chosen specialism. The distinctive features of the programme are a focus on successful long-term management, and the inclusion of considerations connected with social responsibility and sustainable development in all core subjects.

Forward-looking research

Sustainability plays an important part in the university’s current key research topics. The aim is to develop solutions with strong academic foundations for businesses and organisations, with a focus on CSR and innovation, the new world of work and the tourismFACTORY, which address all aspects of sustainable development. There is a special emphasis on applying principles of modern management theories, and the option of implementing solutions directly at companies.
