23rd International Tourism Students Conference – a success story!

Conference organiser Prof. (FH) Mag. Eva Werner was pleased with the successful convention: „We are very proud that we could welcome groups of students from France, Germany, Greece, Finland, Spain, the Netherlands, USA, South Africa and Russia at the ITSC (International Tourism Students Conference 08) in Krems Our guests experienced a very interesting conference with stimulating presentations,“ the Head of the International Department of FH Krems said.

After the closing and award ceremony the participants gave special praise and standing ovations for the perfect organisation and handling of the ITSC by the International Department run by Prof. (FH) Mag. Eva Werner.
With reference to the issue „Business & Meeting Industry Tourism” experts from the industry passed on their know-how to the participating students.The latter could not only test intercultural teamwork in the workshop but they could also present their findings to a board of international experts in the context of a case-study competition. Excursions to the Austria Center in Vienna as well as to Casino Baden rounded the programme off.

Paul Constable, board member of ITSC from the Université de Savoie condensed the feedback of colleagues and students in his concluding speech as follows: "You (the IMC) set new standards in professionalism, academic quality and hospitality; those who will host the Conference after you will have to struggle hard to come up the standards you have set”.

In the catgeory of „Research Paper“ the delegation of the University of Heilbronn won the award, in the category of „Presentation“ the delegation from South Africa could thrill the participants with an outstanding sales presentation of their case study; the „Marketing Award“ was achieved by the delegation of the Universität Rej Juan Carlos (Spain).

The students of the Bachelor’s programme Tourism Management FH Krems got third in the category of „Presentation“ .
