Any prospective students fulfilling the entry requirements will be invited to participate in the University’s admission procedure.

How does the IMC Krems admission procedure work?

The procedure involves an application interview.

Applicants will be allocated an appointment in the order in which applications are received.

All applicants are required to come to Krems for the admission procedure. If you know that you will not be able to attend an interview on certain dates, please include a letter specifying the times you are available with your application.

You are required to provide some form of photo ID when you apply, and you should bring this with you to the interview (e.g. driving licence or passport).

Before the interview you will receive an English-language article related to one of the core topics of the degree programme. You will have around 30 minutes to study it. During the interview you will be asked to summarise the text and answer two questions on it. Once the preparation time is over, you and two or three other applicants (each with a different text) will appear before the interview panel, which consists of two lecturers from the degree programme.

The applicants are then required to

  • introduce themselves
  • answer questions on the text, and supplementary questions from the interview panel
  • answer questions related to the degree programme


The panel assesses the content and style of the applicants’ presentation, the way they express themselves and the arguments they use. The University will provide all equipment required for the presentation.

Once the entire admission procedure has been completed, we will inform you in writing of our decision as soon as possible. This notification will be sent by mid-July at the latest. Please note that, for administrative reasons, we are unable to provide any information by telephone.

We have provided a text used in the last round of admission procedure to give you an idea of the level expected at the interview. These texts will not be used at any other admission interviews.
