Admission procedure
Due to the limited number of study places available each applicant (EU and NON-EU citizens) has to undergo the admission procedure.
The admission procedure takes place in Krems between March and the end of June and consists of a verification of English language skills and an admission interview. The dates for admission procedure for the academic year 2011/2012 will be announced by January 2011.
Please keep in mind, that the arrangements for the admission interviews will be organised after we have received your complete application file.

Verification of English skills
All applicants for the Bachelor's programme Tourism & Leisure Management are obliged to hand in one of the following certificates.
(Benchmark: Common European Framework of Reference - B2)
- Cambridge Certificates - Level B2
- IELTS Academic Training - Minimum score 5.5
- TOEFL - (IBT) - Minimum score 70
The IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems accepts only certificates, which are not older than two years.
- Confirmation of academic record in an English-speaking country (minimum one Semester)
Applicants without the above listed certificates have the opportunity to do an English proficiency test at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.
Please note that this test will take you approximately 60-90 minutes. After passing a positive result of the English test, the applicants get invited to the oral admission interview.
Every applicant, who owns one of the above mentioned certificates, gets invited directly to the oral admission interview.
With the registration for the English proficiency test a photo identification has to be submitted. We ask you to bring a valid photo identification (driving licence, passport) with you.
Admission Interview
For the interview you are given a text in English and you have approx. 30 minutes time for preparation.
You are required to give a summary of the text and to answer two more questions regarding the contents of the text. After the preparation you will be picked up together with 2 - 3 other candidates by the team of interviewers. Each candidate has got a different text. The team comprises 2 lecturers of the Bachelor´s programme.
The admission interview is structured into:
- personal introduction
- questions regarding the text
- specific questions with reference to the chosen programme
Applicants will be evaluated according to their understanding of the text, their ability to express themselves, language accuracy and reasoning.
The interview will be conducted in English. All auxiliary means will be provided by the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.
With the registration for the admission interview a photo identification has to be submitted. We ask you to bring a valid photo identification (driving licence, passport) with you.
You will be informed whether you have been accepted after the whole admission procedure is completed. The written notification will be sent in mid-July at the latest. Please note, that due to administrative reasons information will not be passed on over the phone.
As support to get better prepared for the admission interview we provide a text of the last admission procedure. This text will not be used at the admission interviews anymore.
