The Diploma Supplement is issued together with the degree certificate in order to facilitate international transparency and the academic and professional recognition of qualifications.
The Diploma Supplement gives a detailed description of the key elements of a degree program.
Hence, the Diploma Supplement

- Facilitates mobility
- Facilitates recognition and accreditation of academic and professional qualifications
- Promotes Life-long learning
- Serves as information tool for citizens, employers and higher education institutions;
However, the Diploma Supplement does not replace a Curriculum Vitae, nor the original certificate of qualifications or a copy thereof, and it does not guarantee automatic recognition of an awarded degree; but it is a useful tool which promotes the transparency of degrees and thus recognition of studies and degrees.
At the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, the Diploma Supplement is automatically issued to every graduate, free of charge both in English and German.
